Tennova Healthcare -Cleveland Appoints Debbie Murray, EdD to Board of Directors

Cleveland, TN (July 6, 2023) – Tennova Healthcare – Cleveland has named Debbie Murray, Ed.D.,.to the board of directors. Dr. Murray currently serves as provost and vice president for academic affairs for Lee University, a position she has held since 2013.
As provost, she has direct oversight of the University's six schools and colleges, as well as responsibility for several specialized academic programs. In addition to her role as provost, Dr. Murray also holds the rank of Distinguished Professor of Education at Lee where she has been a member of the faculty since 1980. She served as dean of the DeVos College of Education at Lee for 17 years before joining the administrative cabinet of then-president Dr. Paul Conn in 2013, and during her tenure has served as department chair, director of teacher education programs, and director of graduate programs in education. She has been a 'teacher's teacher' her entire career and is a previous recipient of the Excellence in Advising Award as well as a Distinguished Alumnus Award from the Department of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in 1997.

As a resident of Cleveland most of her life, Dr. Murray obtained her bachelor's degree in mathematics from Lee University. She subsequently went on to obtain her master's degree in special education and a doctorate in education, with an emphasis in curriculum and instruction, from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Dr. Murray and her husband have four children and eleven grandchildren.
