Jarrett Millsaps, Jr., FACHE, New CEO at Tennova Healthcare - Cleveland

Cleveland, TN (December 23, 2021) – Tennova Healthcare – Cleveland has named Jarrett Millsaps, FACHE, as its new chief executive officer effective January 9, 2023. Millsaps is a well-known healthcare executive in the region.
”We have been purposeful with our search as we want to ensure we have the right leadership in place to be the provider of choice in this region,” states Nancy Casson, chairman of the board of trustees for Tennova Healthcare - Cleveland. “Tennova stood strong throughout the pandemic and will continue to grow to serve this community. Jarrett embodies our values of safety, compassion, excellence, integrity and service and will continue to lead with these principles in Cleveland.”
Millsaps is a Navy veteran who completed multiple deployments across the globe both at sea and in the Naval Special Warfare community. After his service in uniform, he turned his service to healthcare, where he has consistently led teams that focused on culture, clinical quality and competitive success.
Throughout his more than 25 years of healthcare leadership, Millsaps has demonstrated an ability to guide hospitals through changes and new initiatives, forge strong relationships with physicians and engage with employees and local communities. He joins the hospital from Solas BioVentures, a venture capital firm focused on the life sciences industry, where he served as managing director. Millsaps previously led Parkridge East Hospital in Chattanooga for nearly eight years and also served as CEO for a large rehabilitation hospital in Lexington, KY. During his career, he has held a variety of progressive leadership positions for hospitals in Georgia, Kentucky and Tennessee.
In each of his previous roles, he helped strengthen hospitals’ ties to the community and improve employee engagement, medical staff relationships and partnerships, including raising the performance of prior facilities from bottom quartile to top decile across the country. Under his leadership, Parkridge East experienced a 22% increase in ER satisfaction scores, improved its Leapfrog Safety Grade to an “A,” and grew services to meet the community’s healthcare needs.
Millsaps received his Bachelor of Science degree from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD, and his master’s degree in business administration (with a focus on finance) from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
