Nathan Irwin Named New COO at Tennova Healthcare - Cleveland

Cleveland, TN (June 16, 2023) – Tennova Healthcare – Cleveland has named Nathan Irwin as its new chief operating officer effective June 5, 2023. Irwin is a Tennessee native and an accomplished leader with a track record of building operational excellence by emphasizing culture, attention to detail, and commitment to the community.

Nathan has spent the last nine years with HCA Healthcare, most recently at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center in Fredericksburg, VA, where he has served as COO since 2021. While serving there, he led teams focused on improvements in patient throughput, staff engagement, and patient satisfaction. In addition, he was responsible for several significant capital projects including the construction of a freestanding emergency room, new cardiac cath lab, and surgical suite enhancements. His experience of building culture and driving results will have a direct, and immediate positive impact on our work here at Tennova. Prior to his role at Spotsylvania, Nathan served in positions of increasing responsibility with HCA including service at Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome, GA and Mainland Medical Center in Texas City, TX.
Nathan received his bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from the University of Tennessee and his master's degree in healthcare administration from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. Nathan, his wife Ashley, and their young daughter are in the process of relocating and will make great additions to our Tennova Cleveland family. “Relocating to Tennessee feels like we have come home and I appreciate how the Cleveland community has already welcomed my family and I with open arms. I am honored to join this team and ready to keep the positive momentum going,” states Nathan.
